1d4Con is going into it’s 9th year. The convention was an idea that James, of the 1d4cast Podcast, had when he realized how little the presence of gaming conventions were in the topmost Northern Virginia and West Virginia Panhandle parts of the Shenandoah Valley area.

This convention aims to offer a wide variety of gaming for our attendees: Tabletop RPGs, Card games and Board games, LARPs, Miniatures games, and sometimes computer games like ARTEMIS Spaceship Bridge Simulator.

Join us on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 for a Day of all kinds of gaming fun and raising money for charity

Our goal is to provide safe gaming entertainment for our guests, nothing less. Every year, we try to add something new.

Why have a 2020 convention in 2021?

We tried and failed twice last year (2020) to have an in-person event. COVID-19 completely shut us down both times. Now we are trying a third time for a 1d4Con 2020 convention (allowing us to use the 2020 t-shirt logo), the twist is that it will be Virtual and 80% or more of the proceeds will go to Charity (1d4Con Extra Life page: https://www.extra-life.org/participant/450031) after we use some to cover Discord boosting fees (https://tabletop.events/…/accessing-our-discord-server).

This event will be held on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 and sign-ups will take place on Tabletop.Events (https://tabletop.events/…/1d4con-2021-one-day-virtual…), with One Day Passes set at $2 for GMs and $5 for everyone else. We will be running based off of a block schedule (as much as we can) to allow attendees to play games through various Virtual Table Tops (determined by the GMs themselves) and participate in panels how the panelist determines. Submissions that we will be taking include:
– Panels (on RPG or related topics)
– Tabletop RPGs
– Board Games/Card Games/Miniatures Games (that are either conducted through a simulator or have their own virtual environment.)

The plan is that we will have a temporary Boosted Discord server to act as a central hub for players to interact with their GMs before and during games as needed. GMs will have text and voice channels set up with matching names to fit their needs and to use at their discretion.

2020 shirts will sold separately through an online retailer (http://tee.pub/lic/9fAL_ZC2iYU).

Help us make this a great virtual convention and raise money for Extra Life charity.

Please note that our in-person 1d4Con 2021 convention for Halloween weekend has been cancelled.
